It truly doesn’t seem possible! It feels like he was cozy in my belly yesterday. Thankfully, those really, really hard newborn days actually feel far away now. I swear there is some magic dust that is sprinkled on moms while they sleep that makes those tough moments disappear from your memory! If you’re still in the thick of it - hang tight, mama! It gets soooo much better.
Read MoreThose first few months of learning to ‘solo-parent’ was a messy, challenging blur. I learned so much about myself as a mom and what I would need to make it work. I made it through his first leaps, cluster feeds and doctors appointments on my own. I think it’s actually made me a stronger mother, but I also think having to take on all the responsibilities so soon also increased my postpartum anxiety. But not only did I freaking survive those challenging days (often alone), but my husband and I learned how to co-parent as a result.
Read MoreIt’s funny that motherhood is the only job that anyone can do without experience. Somehow, we all just figure it out. I survived that phase (you will, too!), but it’s easy to feel overwhelmed in the process. Especially when you don’t have others to learn from and lean on. It doesn’t matter where you find help, as long as you have it. The point is you have to find your people that will be there for you. Read on for more tips...
Read MoreIf you are like me and enjoy arts & crafts, but don’t always know what to do or don’t want to necessary buy all the things…I have a few ideas on how to get creative at home! I would consider myself creative, but I am not the type of mom that has lots of craft-y things in our home. I guess you would call me a Target mom vs. Pinterset mom. I am also pretty minimalist and don’t have lots of things - unless they are being put to good use! But I’ve been recently really wanting to do more hands-on activities with Ford. He’s at such a fun age where he is curious about everything and really wants to learn new skills. It’s so fun!

Read MoreI am in shock that it’s almost Ford’s first birthday. It just doesn’t seem possible that he is going to be one! I’ve done a LOT of research and have been pulling together all the ideas of gifts for this milestone birthday. I am not sure what your traditions are, but we go big for milestone birthdays and this one will be no exception. I wanted to also ask the experts on what toys would be worth investing in for a first birthday gift. SO, I enlisted my friends at Learning Tree Toys, a local children’s toy company that I support and trust to share advice with me. Their ideas were so helpful, I thought I would share with you!
Read MoreFord is 11-months. My little baby looks (and acts) more like a toddler by the day. He no longer crawls and prefers to walk. He’s gotten quite good at it! He has a little personality including telling me “no” by shaking his head. He loves to point out animals like, birds and dogs. He is starting to say “ba” for bird and “da” for dog.
Read MoreNow that I am almost 1-year into my motherhood journey, I have such a different perspective on what I would give to a new mama. When I was prepping for Ford to arrive, I was focused on folding his cute baby onesies and curating the perfect nursery. I tried my best to research baby items we would need and actually use, but it’s really hard to know…until you know.
Read MoreWe finally found a fun and educational weekly activity to do as a family: swim lessons! Sharing my thoughts on the experience, how to prepare for your first lesson and a few water safety tips I have learned from Goldfish Swim in Overland Park!
Read MoreI think Ford’s nursery is one of my favorite rooms in our home. I thought it was time I shared a blog post on what we did to create this special space and the items we bought to create his neutral nursery.
Read MoreThings are starting to move fast. Like, really fast! Ford is getting close to walking, which doesn’t even seem real. And is growing so much both mentally and physically. Time seems to be going by quickly. Sharing a quick update on 9 months with Ford.
Read MoreNow that Ford is 8-months-old (how is that possible?) I thought it would be fun to share the baby products we still are using to this day. When we created our registry, I was completely overwhelmed with how many baby gadgets there are. I think I spent HOURS researching everything, comparing prices and looking for cute options. It’s crazy to think that only a few of the things we purchased or received lasted more than a few weeks or months. If I were to have another baby (not anytime soon), I would definitely pare down my list to the essentials. These are the few items we are still using to this day and would buy again and again…
Read MoreI am SO excited to celebrate Easter with Ford this year. Even though he won’t remember it, I want to start our family traditions now. I decided to plan our Easter Basket for Ford early knowing that stores often get cleared of inventory quickly. I went into my Target with a goal to not spend more than $60 and to stick to items that Ford really needs. I would call myself a ‘minimalist mama’ and don’t like having lots of stuff, so really was trying to avoid buying anything that he wouldn’t need, want or use.
Read MoreThe last month has been one of the most challenging, but also so fun. After dealing with an entire month of sickness and then teething, we are so thankful that Ford is finally back to his playful self. Here are a few updates on Ford.
Read MoreI am SO excited to host a Mommy & Me meet-up this Wednesday, March 27 from 11:00am - noon at Monica & Andy on the Country Club Plaza.
If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen that I hosted a Coffee Meet-up last month…it was so fun to get together with women, many of which are moms, and chat about life, business and chasing after passion projects. That meet-up was so inspiring, I have decided to attempt to host a new networking event each month with a specific theme. Since I love connecting with moms on social media, I thought it would be fun to take our conversations offline for this month’s meet-up!
