My Spring Capsule Wardrobe

When it comes to my wardrobe, I prefer to only buy pieces that I will wear over and over again.

That means, looking for quality items that are made well and can easily be mixed-and-matched to create easy looks for all the roles I play...running a business to blogging events and of course, being a mom.

A few staples for me:

A few good pairs of denim. I love having a few styles to rotate. Right now, I am loving my crop flares, classic mom jeans and white denim for spring. I always have a good pair of skinny denim and distressed denim as well! My go-to’s for designer denim are AGolde & AG, but I love the quality of Abercrombie, LOFT and Madewell for the price point! I try to avoid “fast fashion” places for denim because they don’t often last and the lower-quality can affect the overall fit.

Basic tees & cami tanks. I keep a few basic tees and tanks in my wardrobe at all times. I love these tees from Madewell and also stock up on these cami's from Abercrombie. I will layer them under everything from cardigan sweaters to blazers or just throw on with denim.

Lightweight blouses. I know a blouse may sound like a piece only reserved for women that work in an office setting, but I promise you that a classic blouse can go a long way in your wardrobe. I keep a few seasonal blouses in my closet to pair with denim for meetings or to dress up with a fun skirt for dinner & drinks. I even pair a beautiful blouse with cutoff denim shorts for a weekend activity. I think it makes any outfit look intentional and classic.

Easy Dresses. I love a t-shirt dress or a basic dress that works for everything from weekend activities to meetings. If it works with tennis shoes to dress mules, I know it’s a winner.

The third layering piece. From my early days in retail, I learned the trick to always add a “third” layering piece to look more styled. Whether it’s a cardigan, jacket or even a lightweight scarf - the third piece can easily pull a look together. I love a good jacket in the spring and get lots of use out of my favorite denim jacket and military-style jackets. These are my picks

Mom-approved shoes. I remember the days when I only would wear heels. Being on the shorter side (I am only 5’4), I love what a heel does to elongate my legs, but it’s just not practical as a mom. I now rotate between suede or leather mules, white leather tennis shoes and ‘nice’ sandals during the spring. There are my current go-to’s:
