If you have a new baby or have friend/family member with one, it can be hard to know what to get them for the holiday - especially if they have everything they “need” from recent baby showers! I rounded up our favorite baby products that would make such great gifts for a new mom and her baby! These are products we own and have personally used.
Read MoreGetting dressed always ends up being the last thing on my morning to-do list. After feeding the baby, pumping, taking care of the dog, attempting to feed myself (a.k.a coffee time) and getting everything ready for the day, there’s just not a lot of time left to think about what I am going to wear. Plus, I am running all over the place. So, I have to get ready in a look that works for work errands, meetings & photo shoots, and taking care of the baby. Quite the feat. Here are my current winter basics that have been on repeat and can be worn in so many ways. Seriously, just throw it on and go!
Read MoreEven though Ford won’t technically remember this Christmas, it’s still his “first Christmas.” We are doing a few gifts for him - nothing over the top, but also had to give ideas to family members. So, I created Ford’s Wish List with a mix of items he needs, will enjoy or can use in the future. Here is what I came up with…
Read MoreThis sweet boy is 4-months-old! I think this stage is my favorite. He’s developing a personality, learning to sleep longer than a few hours at a time (finally) and each day our bond grows closer. I still can’t believe he’s mine and some days I have to remind myself how amazing this journey is, even if I’m covered in spit up and haven’t showered in days. Life is good and I’m starting to feel like I’m getting the hang of this mom thing. Here’s what’s been going on...
Read MoreIf I am being totally honest, creating a “wish list” for myself was really hard this year. It was such a big year having Ford and growing our family that I didn’t feel like there was anything I truly needed. But after my husband and a few family members hounding me, I pulled together a few items I wouldn’t mind having…so, I thought I would share as a way to possibly inspire you, if you are also struggling to come up with ideas or need inspiration for someone on your list!
Read MoreYou guys. If I am being honest, sleep has been the biggest struggle as a new mom. You never truly realize how wonderful a full night of uninterrupted sleep is until you have a baby. Am I right?
I just don’t think there is anything that can prepare you for the feeling of sleep deprivation. But I do think it’s possible to teach your baby to learn to sleep on their own and to love sleep. This has been one of my biggest goals with Ford and I am finally ready to share what has worked for us, so far!
Read MoreThe holiday season is the best time of year! It’s always been a special time and it’s even more exciting having a baby to celebrate with. Over the years, we’ve created a few traditions as a married couple, but are looking forward to creating new ones with Ford. I’ve decided to create a holiday bucket list of different things to try this season and we will see what sticks for future years!
Read MoreLearning how to pack a diaper bag is a right of passage as a new mom. Before the baby was here, I carefully curated our diaper bag with neatly folded onesies, perfect stacks of diapers and cute toys that were more Instagram-worthy than baby-friendly. Now, I know that a diaper bag is more than that. It’s an arsenal of essentials to get you through any situation that you may encounter outside of the home with a baby.
Read MoreHow is it possible that I have a 3-month-old? I know that everyone said it would go by fast, but it truly is! I will say, this phase is already so much fun and I am loving watching my baby grow…even if it makes me sad that he’s not so tiny anymore.
Read MoreI heard that this phase can be the hardest. And while there were certainly difficult times, we made it through and we’re able to enjoy it (most of the time). I think you have to remind yourself that ‘it will get better’ and that this newborn phase will go so quickly. But if you need more advice, here are a few things that helped us survive the fourth trimester phase.
Read MoreBecoming a mom has definitely changed my style. I now have less time to try-on outfits and typically am getting ready during Ford’s first nap of the day, so am trying to super efficient. Plus, I am still breastfeeding and plan to continue to…so I am always looking for pieces that are versatile and functional. I invested in some great pieces for fall that can easily be mix-and-matched together and work for business meetings to events and days at-home. Here are my favorites!
Read MoreI didn’t know a lot of the insider mom secrets. You know... the things that happen to you when you have a baby but know one really wants to talk about. I spent a LOT of time researching and reading about childbirth and the fourth trimester. Things I didn’t know existed until I got caught spending too much time on Pinterest or reading childbirth blogs. But I’m glad I read it all - the good, bad & ugly. I thought it would be interesting to some mamas-to-be to share some of my own experiences.
Read MoreEven though my friends have been more than amazing with Ford, I wanted to make a few new friends that were also moms. Someone to share the “highs and lows” of motherhood and to swap product ideas and tips with. Thus began my search to find new mom friends…
Read MoreSomeone asked me how I’ve changed since having the baby as a biz owner. Let me count the ways...from my time to what I purse in life and business, it’s all changed. Even my interests have started to evolve as a mom!
