Mother's Day Gift Guide
I recently asked all my mamas on social media to share what they REALLY want for Mother’s Day. Flowers are nice, brunch is always a good idea and I will never say ‘no’ to jewelry…but sometimes it’s the little things that make the biggest impact!
I decided to compile a few Mother’s Day Gift ideas that are easy and that any mom would truly love!
Pampering:
All I really want is the gift of relaxation. And SO many of you agreed! A spa package is always a great idea for Mother's Day! I personally love Bare Med Spa in Kansas City for facials or Botox and they are offering a gift card special for Mother’s Day - spend $100, get a $20 gift card. That’s a no brainer!
Not into facials? A gift card for a massage of mani/pedi is equally as pampering and forces you to relax . Or I love a blowout. There is something so soothing about having someone else wash and style your hair. I go to Posh KC Blow Dry Bar in Kansas City and it’s been too long since I’ve had this pampering treat.
But most importantly, us moms need to not only receive the gift card, but the actual date on the calendar and childcare provided in order to make the treatment happen! Go ahead and mark a date + time for the treatment and commitment to watching the kids into the Mother’s Day card.
Sleep:
It’s not surprise that the most requested gift for Mother’s Day is sleep.
Here is a gentle reminder of how tiring it can be…
On average, moms lost about 40 minutes of sleep per night in that first year of having a baby, and in the first three months they lost over an hour. Dads only lost 13 minutes of sleep per night during their first year of parenthood.
If you are lacking sleep or just want some quiet time to yourself, I FEEL YOU! I told my husband that all I want for Mother’s Day is to sleep in and enjoy breakfast in bed while watching a really bad reality TV show. It’s the little things in life that you miss, like relaxing, once you become a mom.
Want to go all out? Book a room at a nearby hotel for mom to have the ultimate staycation.
Experiences:
After allowing mom to sleep in, a few other fun experiences would be:
Brunch at a new restaurant or her favorite spot
Home Show Tour (we do the Symphony Home Tour every year as a tradition)
Picnic in the park (with her favorite treats)
Family photo shoot (bonus: buy her a new outfit!)
Coffee & breakfast in bed
A photo album or printed photos
A quiet day (you take the kids and let mom just chill!)
Box of gift cards featuring a few different experiences & favorite shops
Speciality cooking or baking class
